Club Team 2023-24 Tryout Details

Play with the Best! With over 30 years of excellence under our belt, JJVA welcomes you to become part of the most exciting volleyball family in Northeast Florida.

Our club division offers training from our JJVA coaches twice a week in the evenings, and teams will enjoy a competitive tournament schedule without the expense and commitment of out-of-town travel.

Club Team Practices (10U – 17U)

Scheduled Mondays & Wednesdays by Age or Level
- Starting: November

JJVA Staff Coaches and Club Team Coaches conduct all Training. All practices will consist of Positional Training, Team Training, and 6 vs. 6 Wash Drills.

PRE-TRYOUT SKILLS CLINICS

JJVA Staff coaches will offer 2 pre-tryout clinics to help athletes prepare and sharpen their skills before club tryouts.

Tryout Costs

Registration Cost:

$100, if registered before October 31st, 2023
$150 if registered after October 31st, 2023

Any athlete unable to attend the tryout dates may request to be evaluated by our staff and potentially selected for a Club team. Contact Coachjohn@jjva.com to request an evaluation.

$175, if registered day of the tryout

All Tryout Fees are Non-Refundable

*Once registered, commitment forms, tuition information, and tentative tournament schedules will be emailed to parents BEFORE tryouts.

TRYOUT PROCESS

All athletes will be assigned a number to be evaluated by our coaching staff. During the check-in process, athletes will be asked to:

Tryout Format, Team Placement, & Team Commitment

Serve & Serve Reception Training & Evaluations
Individual Positional Training & Evaluations
6 vs. 6 Competition Evaluations

EACH PLAYER MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN IN ATTENDANCE DURING THE LAST HOUR OF THE TRYOUT to complete the team commitment process. (See more below)

During the tryout process, coaches will begin ranking each athlete by position to start forming competitive teams.

Each court will continue the tryout evaluation process by competing in 6 vs. 6 drills. During these drills, coaches may ask athletes to switch between courts at any time and play multiple positions. Our staff will ask specific courts to begin the player commitment process.

PLAYER COMMITMENT PROCESS

After Tryouts, each athlete selected will be offered a roster placement.

Once this roster placement has been offered, athletes and parents must complete the commitment process on-site. If an athlete decides NOT to accept the roster placement offered, that athlete will be free to end their tryout process, and the next highest evaluated athlete in that position will be considered for that specific roster placement.
