JJVA 2025 College Coaches Training Camp

Each year our staff organizes a three-day event dedicated to the advancement of the development of all prospective student-athletes in our community. The goal of this camp is to provide athletes with access to learn about what training is like at the NCAA level. Each year we invite NCAA DI and DII coaches from around the state of Florida and the United States to run a training session similar to those that their NCAA athletes experience on a daily basis.

2024 Attending Schools & Coaches

Lindsay Allman

Florida State University – Associate Head Coach (NCAA DI)

Florida State Volleyball Head Coach Chris Poole announced the addition of Associate Head Coach Lindsay Allman to the Seminole program on March 22, 2022. She completed her second season with the Seminoles in the 2023 campaign, proving to be an enormous part of FSU’s co-ACC Championship where they finished 16-2 in the league.

Allman earned some much-deserved recognition in 2023 when she was named to the Volleyball Magazine College Coaching Hotshots List. The selection is proof of all the outstanding intangibles she has.

Allman is tasked with operating as the team’s recruiting coordinator, while her training will include primary work with FSU’s outside hitters and ball control.

“I’m very excited to add an Associate Head Coach to our program that has already been an assistant coach at a Power Five level at Wake Forest and also has head coaching experience from her time at Indiana State,” Poole said. “Lindsay has a strong reputation of being a great recruiter, a players’ coach with her focus on team culture, and she did an amazing job building the Indiana State Volleyball program.”

Allman played a large role in the incredible production of outside hitter Audrey Koenig, who was recognized as the ACC Co-Player of the Year. FSU’s attacking unit was a strength in 2023, paving the way for yet another NCAA Tournament appearance.

Allman, a native of St. Louis, Mo., honed her coaching skills in recent years in the Missouri Valley Conference. She spent five years from 2017-21 building Indiana State into a program on the rise, guiding the Sycamores to an 18-13 overall record in 2021 and leading them to their first conference tournament win since 2017.

Allman’s addition gives the Seminoles three members of their coaching staff who have been collegiate head coaches. Current Associate Head Coach Jeff Hulsmeyer was also a head coach at Western Kentucky, Arkansas State and Purdue.

“I am grateful to Coach Poole for this opportunity to join the FSU community and be part of a top caliber program under his leadership,” Allman said. “I’m excited to learn from the number one women’s athletic department in the country and two excellent coaches in Chris and Jeff. I look forward to standing alongside our players here on and off the court. Go Noles!”

The 18 victories by Indiana State in 2021 under Allman were its most since joining the Missouri Valley Conference in 1983.

The 2021 season culminated in a bid to the National Invitational Volleyball Championships field. In her five seasons, Indiana State made two MVC semifinal appearances in their conference tournament.

Allman helped develop several Indiana State student-athletes, including All-MVC selections Laura Gross and Madeline Williams. The Sycamores also received the AVCA All-Academic Award in each of Allman’s five seasons as head coach.

As the recruiting coordinator for Bradley from 2013-15, Allman’s time was impactful with the Braves.

In 2013, Bradley finished with 13 overall wins and seven wins in the MVC, the program’s best marks since 2005. The Braves made their conference tournament in that season for the first time since 2005.

Her Power Five experience came in one season with Wake Forest in 2016, helping two Demon Deacons in outside hitter Caroline Rassenfoss and middle blocker Caitlyn Della earn All-ACC Freshmen honors.

Allman was an accomplished collegiate athlete at Maine, recording more than 1,000 career kills as well as over 1,000 career digs as a four-year starter with the Black Bears. She was a First Team All-America East Conference player as a captain in 2008, and also enjoyed success in the classroom as a three-time America East Honor Roll student from 2007-09.

She is a 2009 graduate from Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and minors in Public Relations and Child Development. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Southern Miss in 2011, where she was also a Graduate Assistant Coach for three seasons.

Allman is married to Tallahassee native and Florida State University graduate William Dehler. They have two children.

Jalissa Trotter

Tulane University – Assistant Coach

Trotter comes to NOLA from Butler University, where she was an assistant for the Bulldogs for the 2022 season. She also served as the interim head coach for a time during the spring of 2023. Prior to her stop in Indianapolis, she competed her second year of professional volleyball with Polkky Kuusamo of Finland’s Mestaruusliiga, finishing her playing career as the league’s female MVP. While receiving several setter/player of the month awards in Finland, Trotter also led them to a Finnish Cup Championship and a finish League championship, both firsts for the club. While competing abroad, she completed her master’s degree online at Southern Arkansas University. Coach Trotter has a Master’s in  Kinesiology with a focus in Coaching.

Prior to her return to her second year to play professionally, she was an assistant volleyball coach at Ouachita Baptist University, where she aided in the team’s organization, preparation, and strength and conditioning plans.

“Jalissa Trotter is an incredible addition to our staff, and I am honored to have her join our Tulane family,” said Price. “Jalissa brings a wealth of knowledge to our team in multiple arenas. Having coached against her while she was a player, I distinctly remember the passionate fight, leadership, and elite skills she brought to the court. I am thrilled for her to influence our team and culture in the same ways she did as a player, only now in a coaching role.

“Jalissa brings experience to our offensive systems, and I believe she has the ability to curate some of the nation’s most elite setters. Her integrity, enthusiasm for the sport of volleyball, and desire to build a program the right way make Jalissa the perfect addition to our family.”

Trotter played collegiately at Syracuse from 2015 to 2018. As a setter, she ranks eighth in the program’s history with 2,520 career assists. She was a 2018 All-ACC Academic honoree, got ACC Player of the Week (10/23), and made Cyclone Classic All-Tournament Team. She was also a Member of the Leadership Committee of Syracuse University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). She was also a four-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

“Excited is an understatement of how I feel to be part of this athletic department,” Trotter said. “I am stoked to be working under Jordana after playing against her in previous years. My coaching philosophy is athlete-centered. I desire to improve the overall wellness of students by focusing on physical and intellectual growth in sports and life, incorporating fundamental skills that teach accountability, commitment, and success. I seek a program that can offer the proper necessities needed for each student-athlete to develop and accomplish their goals in sports and education. At Tulane, I have found that and so much more.”

The Texas native has athletic bloodlines, including her mother, Melissa Trotter-Hardy, who played volleyball at Henderson State (1994-98). Her uncle Nicholas Trotter who played football at SFA and her uncle Jeremiah Trotter, who played in the National Football League for 12 years, was a four-time Pro Bowler at linebacker.

At Tulane, Coach Trotter will assist with the Green Wave offense while training the setters and defenders.

Jason Kennedy is the most winningest coach in Boston College volleyball program history, and he has tallied the most ACC match wins in program history as well. A 2022 NIVC Champion, Kennedy has changed BC Volleyball and led them to their best program records during his tenure. In 2024 under Coach Kennedy, Julia Haggerty was selected to All-ACC and All-Region as she proved to be the best blocker in the country.

The Eagles went 19-13 in 2023 and 8-10 in the ACC, achieving .594 on the season. Kennedy led the team as they went 11-5 at home and had a 7-0 undefeated run the first seven home matches of the year. Kennedy led the Eagles to ACC victories over Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, Syracuse, NC State, Syracuse, Wake Forset and Miami.

In 2022, Coach Kennedy led BC Volleyball to their best start in program history at 10-0. He and his team set the single season program record for most wins in a single season at 24 (the previous record was 20 which had been done on two occasions, in 2004 coached led by former head coach Andrea Leonard and in 2019 which was also a Kennedy coached team). He and his staff also set a new program record for most career wins in BC Volleyball history at 82, passing Andrea Leonard who finished with 80. Kennedy, who has just finished up his fifth season as head coach, has broken the all time wins record in over one less full season then Leonard who coached for seven seasons. The 2022 Eagles also managed to win the first ever postseason championship in program history, defeating Drake 3-1 in the NIVC Finals. In the NIVC Tournament, BC also had wins over Buffalo, St. John’s, Xavier, and Southern Miss.

Through his first four seasons, Kennedy became the fastest coach in program history to 50 wins with a 3-1 victory over Fordham on September 11, 2021.  In 2021, the Eagles captured their first postseason victory with a 3-0 win in the first round of the NIVC.  Kennedy led the Eagles to 20 wins in 2019 – its most in program history – highlighted by a 5-0 start to Atlantic Coast Conference play and breaking a program record with 11 ACC victories in a single season.  Amaka Chukwujekwu earned All-ACC honors in 2019 and 2020 becoming the first Eagle to earn conference honors since 2015. In his first four seasons, Kennedy has led the team to 3 seasons of .500 or better volleyball.  In 2018 in his first season, Kennedy achieved that mark for just the first time since 2003.

Boston College made its second postseason appearance in three years in 2021; earning hosting position for the first two rounds of the NIVC. The Eagles hosted postseason play for the first time in program history. BC finished the year 17-17 overall; its third year at or above .500 in Kennedy’s first four years.

The 2019 Eagles went 20-12 overall and 11-7 in the ACC; picking up a big to the NIVC. BC claimed five road wins in the league, beginning conference play with wins at Clemson and Georgia Tech.

In his first season at the helm of the Eagles’ program, Kennedy led the team to a 15-15 overall record, headlined by a program-best 9-0 opening run.

Kennedy comes to Boston College after spending the previous three seasons as a member of the USC women’s volleyball staff, the last two as the team’s associate head coach. Over the past three seasons at USC, the women’s volleyball program compiled a record of 75-25 and made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

In his final season on staff at USC, Kennedy and the Women of Troy advanced to the NCAA regional final. It marked the program’s 27th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and the 35th all-time. In 2015, Kennedy helped guide the Women of Troy to the 2015 NCAA regional final while playing a key role in the recruitment and development of AVCA National Player of the Year Samantha Bricio.

For four seasons, from 2011-15, Kennedy served as the technical director for both the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at USC. In that role, Kennedy was responsible for the preparation of all team scouting reports and game plans and in-game strategy. He also oversaw video analysis, exchange, and distribution for both programs.

In 2011 with Kennedy as technical director, the Women of Troy reached the 2011 NCAA national semifinals, and made appearances in back-to-back regional championship matches in 2012 and 2013. He was also part of the staff for the Trojans’ men’s squad that advanced to the NCAA Championship match in 2011.

Kennedy was a scout coach with the 2012 U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball men’s and women’s programs in London, where he created scouting reports for all opponents while responsible for all video analysis and breakdown. In 2013 and 2015, he served a similar role on the FIVB World Tour.

Away from the college ranks, Kennedy served as the highly successful head coach of the Club Troy 17’s squad that captured the bronze medal at the 2014 Junior National Championships and led Los Altos High School to four consecutive California Interscholastic Federation playoff appearances from 2007-10.

A native of Honolulu, Kennedy has a strong Jesuit educational background. He was the setter and team captain at Santa Clara from 2004-07, where he received bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology. In 2009, Kennedy earned his master’s degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco.
