Travel Team Practices (11U – 18U)

Scheduled Tuesdays & Thursdays by Age or Level

All Training is conducted by JJVA Staff Coaches and Travel Team Coaches. All Tue/Thu/Sun practices will consist of both Positional Training, Team Training, and 6 vs. 6 Wash Drills.

$100, if registered before July 3rd, 2024

Any athlete unable to attend the tryout dates may request to be evaluated by our staff and potentially selected for a travel team. Contact CoachAdis@jjva.com to request an evaluation.

*Once registered, commitment forms, tuition information, waivers, and tentative tournament schedules will be emailed to parents BEFORE tryouts. This package must be reviewed and digitally signed BEFORE tryouts in order to tryout.

TRYOUT PROCESS

All athletes will be assigned a number in order to be evaluated by our coaching staff. During the check-in process, athletes will be asked to:

1. Designate a position(s) they would like to be considered for (ex: Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist).

Note: Coaches may ask to evaluate players in other positions in order to create or find the best fit possible for each athlete and team.

EACH PLAYER MUST HAVE BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN IN ATTENDANCE DURING THE LAST HOUR OF THE TRYOUT in order to complete the team commitment process. (See more below)

During the tryout process, coaches will begin ranking each athlete by position in an effort to start forming competitive teams.

Each court will continue the tryout evaluation process by competing in 6 vs. 6 drills. During these drills, coaches may ask athletes to switch between courts at any time as well as play multiple positions. Also during this time, our staff will begin asking specific courts to begin the player commitment process.

PLAYER COMMITMENT PROCESS

At the conclusion of Tryouts, each athlete selected will be offered a roster placement in any of the following travel teams: Edge, Teal, Black, Gold, or White.

Once this roster placement has been offered, athletes and parents must complete the commitment process on-site. If an athlete decides NOT to accept the roster placement offered, that athlete will be free to end their tryout process and the next highest evaluated athlete in that position will be considered for that specific roster placement.

Athletes who are NOT selected and offered a roster placement position in the Travel Team program will be invited to attend the tryouts for our Club program taking place on November 4th and 5th, 2023.
